Following recent investment from Horizon Capital, Lanpro announces that CarneySweeney will join the Group, strengthening its geographic reach across the UK
CarneySweeney, a privately-owned planning consultancy with offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter and London will join Lanpro Group, a leading UK planning and environmental consultancy. The move is the first stage in Lanpro’s five-year growth plan and its objective to be the largest independent businesses in the sector, with a focus on delivering a multi-disciplinary offer across a range of environmental and planning consultancy services.
CarneySweeney brings a team of 35 planning professionals into the Lanpro Group, with extensive experience across a range of sectors and regions including Wales and the West Midlands and a strong reputation for client delivery.
The acquisition adds depth and geographical reach to the company’s existing presence, which already includes planning, historic environment, masterplanning, urban design, GIS, visualisation, landscape architecture, ecology and arboriculture.
”Our ambition is to become the largest planning-led environmental consultancy in the UK, without losing the independence and responsiveness that define our culture. Bringing CarneySweeney into the Lanpro Group is a key step in that journey.

”Joining Lanpro provides the scale and support to assist our current and future clients. We’re also now able to offer clients easy access to a wider range of in-house disciplines and a stronger national reach, while keeping the same dedicated team they’ve always worked with and with the approach they are used to.
Paula CarneyDirector, CarneySweeney
”Carney Sweeney forms part of Lanpro’s wider growth strategy, which includes plans to bring other capabilities into the Group and expand its national reach. With significant investment from Horizon Capital, the company is establishing itself as a leading independent, planning-led environmental consultancy, filling a gap in the UK market for a client-focused multi-disciplinary business.
