Alchemist has secured significant investment from Horizon Capital, the private equity investor specialising in technology and business services.

Alchemist is a UK based learning and development business focused on delivering innovative and bespoke learning at scale to a blue-chip corporate and public sector client base.

Alchemist has delivered impressive organic growth through its blended multi-modal offering underpinned by a proprietary technology platform, creating bespoke and engaging learning programmes tailored to an organisation’s specific needs. Horizon Capital will take a majority stake in the company, supporting the Alchemist team as it continues to grow the business both organically and via acquisitions.

Alchemist was created in 2022 to harness the experience of two firmly established heritage brands – Interact and Apex – and led by Stuart Packham who will continue as CEO. Richard Pryor-Jones who was previously CEO of Global Knowledge, a global PE-backed training business, joins the Alchemist Board as Chairman alongside Katherine Grover as CFO. Horizon Capital Partner Tom Maizels and Investment Manager Tom Kitchen complete the new Alchemist Board.

Alongside Horizon Capital’s investment, debt finance for the acquisition and a committed facility for acquisitions has been provided by specialist lender DunPort Capital Management.

"I am delighted to be working with the Horizon Capital team. I’m confident that with Horizon Capital’s investment, Alchemist is set to become a significant force in the global Learning and Development market, offering creative bespoke learning at scale."
