Horizon Capital, the technology and services buy & build investor, is pleased to announce the promotion of Luke Kingston to Managing Partner. Kingston will work with fellow Managing Partner Simon Hitchcock in accelerating the growth of Horizon.
Luke has 20 years’ experience in investment banking and private equity and was a founding Partner of Horizon Capital in 2018.
Horizon Capital which recently marked its 5th anniversary has completed a total of 11 high growth platform investments across its two funds to date. Investing solely in technology and services businesses Horizon specialises in executing buy and build strategies with companies of up to £100m in enterprise value. Horizon’s differentiated investment model supports growing entrepreneurial businesses to rapidly scale both in the UK and internationally.
Kingston has been instrumental in developing Horizon Capital’s highly successful proprietary origination model and has led a number of the firms investments. These include The Marketing Practice, the leading platform in B2B technology marketing, which since investment in March 2021 has closed five acquisitions and more than quadrupled in size, and digital operating platform provider Sapphire, which has significantly enhanced its service offering through four acquisitions and tripled its profits since Horizon’s January 2020 investment.
